Set out below is a description of the background and experience of our key personnel.
In 1989 Graeme commenced a traineeship in accountancy with Alan Morse & Co in Bathurst whilst completing his Bachelor of Business (Accounting) through Charles Sturt University. Initially gaining experience in the audit division of the practice before moving to business services, working with a variety of business clients and structures. It was during this time Graeme discovered a particular interest in superannuation and retirement saving. Following completion of the Professional Year Program, Graeme was admitted to the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1996.
From April 1997 Graeme held a number of roles in London and Sydney in the commercial sector, extending his knowledge outside of public practice before relocating to Goulburn and joining Herries Davidson & Co in November 2000. Graeme became a partner in the firm on 1 July 2001.
Since joining Herries Davidson & Co, Graeme has worked closely with clients to build solid professional relationships, providing advice in all facets of tax and accounting. His expertise in superannuation and in particular the self managed superannuation fund sector has assisted many clients in taking control of their retirement savings and building their wealth.
Outside of work, Graeme enjoys spending quality time with family and friends.
In 1995 Shawn commenced employment with KPMG in Sydney. Initially, working in the Private Business Division of KPMG, Shawn gained experience in taxation and auditing of a wide variety of individual and private companies. During Shawn’s time at KPMG he completed his professional year qualifications and attained membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1999. Upon leaving KPMG in 1999, Shawn continued his career in the Commercial Sector holding senior financial positions in Sydney including being the Financial Controller of Newslink Pty Ltd.
In 2005, Shawn and his family moved to Goulburn when he became the Chief Financial Officer of Southern Meats Pty Ltd. On the 1st of July 2011 Shawn joined Herries Davidson & Co and in January 2012 he became a Partner in the practice.
Shawn specialises in tax planning and compliance including Income Tax, Fringe Benefits Tax and Payroll Tax. Other areas of specialty including all aspects of management accounting, budget and cashflow forecasting, finance applications and workers compensation management.
Shawn Quinton is also the President of the Goulburn Accountants Association and Chair of the ACT Regional Council of Chartered Accountants ANZ. Shawn is married with two sons.
